Club swimming is central to swimming in Tasmania thanks to the swimmers, coaches, parents, officials and administrators that make clubs run efficiently. The following links give access to information and resources for administrators charged with the running of clubs in Tasmania.



Swimming Community

The Swimming Community in Tasmania is made up of swimmers themselves, coaches, technical officials, clubs and their administrators, volunteers and parents.

New and Prospective Swimmers

If you are just getting started or thinking about joining a swimming club in Tasmania the Go Swimming section provides a great deal of useful information on the benefits of swimming and of joining a swim club and being involved with Swimming Tasmania and in finding a club and how to join. Swimming Tasmania is keen to build the number of swimmers competing regularly with affiliated clubs, and has accordingly started implementing some participation activities for prospective members. Click here for some more information.

Competitive Swimmers

Swimmer Development

Swimming Tasmania provides a structured swimmer development pathway to assist identified swimmers to progress and improve throughout their swimming career. Open Water Swimmers

Swimming Tasmania holds an Open Water Championships each January providing qualification opportunities for the National Open Water Championships. We also have an Open Water development squad and work closely with Surf Life Saving Tasmania to promote regular Open Water swimming opportunities. Further details are available here.

Swimmers with Disability

Swimming Tasmania is committed to a swimming for all philosophy. Swimming Tasmania endeavour to incorporate inclusion strategies in all aspects of the sport, creating opportunities for people of all abilities to participate.
